| Applying for a student work placement ITR offers a limited number of work placements to translation students from universities in the UK and abroad. This provides students with an opportunity to gain insight into best practice in our industry and acquire practical experience of translation technology. Tasks assigned to students relate to the translation workflow process but do not include the translation of our clients’ projects. Examples of tasks carried out by students are: - terminology management
- proof-reading
- file management and file transfer
- data input
- translation memory alignment
- project support
If you are interested in applying for a work placement at ITR, please supply the following information by email to placements@itr.co.uk: A covering letter stating: - the required dates (timing and duration) of the placement
- your reasons for seeking a work placement
- your career objectives if known.
Your current CV with details of: - your academic qualifications
- languages
- previous work experience
- IT skills, if any.
Please note that: - Due to the limited number of placements available, students are advised to apply as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
- ITR gives priority to students of technical translation.
- ITR welcomes overseas students but is unable to provide accommodation.
