ITR wins major Japanese software localisation project 10 November 2003 -
London UK
ITR is pleased to announce that it has recently won a major contract for the
localisation of a games development software package into Japanese. The client is a
major Japanese corporation, and ITR has won the project in the face of competition
from local Japanese translation vendors. The project was awarded to ITR because of
the high quality of ITR's Japanese translation, and ITR's expertise in handling the
many complex file formats involved in the project. John Fisher, ITR's marketing director, said, "We are delighted to have won this
contract in the face of stiff competition from Japan. ITR provided translation
samples which were subjected to detailed scrutiny in Japan, and our translation
quality was judged to be far superior to those of the local vendors. We feel it is a testament to our high standards that a Japanese company came to
England for translation of text into their own language. ITR's Japanese project
management and linguistic team can take full credit for winning this contract." The project involves translating a large volume of online help material within an
aggressive timescale. Because of the considerable amount of file manipulation and
engineering necessary in this project, ITR's in-house IT department have developed
special tools and filters to expedite and streamline the production processes. After the online help has been translated and rebuilt, ITR will carry out full
linguistic testing of the final product before release. For further information on ITR's localisation expertise, contact John Fisher.
