In March 2005, ITR International Translation Resources Ltd was proud to celebrate 20 years in business as a leading provider of technical translation services. The company was formed in 1985 as a one-stop translation and printing service for British exporters and during the past two decades its founding directors, John Fisher and Helen Eckersley, have steered the company through steady growth to become a major player in the translation industry. ITR now provides a wide range of localisation services to many global customers with large-volume requirements – translating and localising documentation, software, help systems and websites into all major languages including Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Thai. Areas of technical expertise include automotive, telecommunications, medical, engineering, financial and software manufacturing.

A consistent driving force in raising translation quality standards, ITR has been widely recognised for many years as a centre of best practice in the translation industry. The company has developed its own translation quality evaluation tool ( ITR BlackJack ) and its Production Director, Helen Eckersley is an active member of the SAE J2450 committee responsible for developing the SAE J2450 translation quality metric, an international Standard for measuring the quality of translations produced for the automotive industry.

The company places great emphasis on the importance of terminology management and the application of language technology to streamline translation workflows. Now at the forefront of the convergence of linguistic and technical expertise, ITR helps its many clients to leverage existing and new translations by means of finely honed processes that result in strong customer satisfaction and loyalty.
