Jaguar Land Rover has awarded a new contract for the provision of translation services to London-based ITR International Translation Resources Ltd. The contract covers a wide variety of project types ranging from drivers' handbooks to service bulletins, workshop manuals, and training materials. ITR's services will include translation into over 25 languages, multilingual desktop publishing, software localisation, integration with Jaguar Land Rover's XML-based content management system, terminology management, and linguistic quality assurance. ITR's Marketing Director, John Fisher, who steered ITR's successful pitch, added "We are absolutely delighted that Jaguar Land Rover has recognised our level of commitment and competitive services by awarding this highly prestigious contract to ITR." With the recent success of Jaguar Land Rover's latest models in overseas markets – the Jaguar XF and Land Rover's new Freelander – their requirement for translation services can only expand, keeping ITR's automotive team busy for quite a while. ITR is now putting the wheels in motion to ensure that its capacity and resources meet Jaguar Land Rover's ever increasing demands. New appointments may include project managers, translators, revisers, DTP operators and language technicians. ITR’s Production Director, Helen Eckersley, said "We are really enjoying gearing up to manage this highly varied contract involving many languages and multiple file formats. Our strengths lie in combining linguistic quality with technical expertise, streamlined workflows with excellent customer service. We therefore believe that Jaguar Land Rover has made exactly the right choice of translation partner."
