Linguistic quality assurance

ITR aims to deliver translations and localisations that achieve a consistently high level of end-user satisfaction. Our services are fully compliant with DIN EN 15038 (Registration number: 7U035), which means that:

  • Our translators are recruited according to strict evaluation criteria
  • Every translation produced by ITR is checked by an additional linguist at each project milestone.

Our linguistic quality assurance steps include

  • Terminology management
  • Checking and revision of translations prior to DTP, website compilation or software build
  • Managing in-country reviews by Subject Matter Experts, if required
  • Proof-reading formatted documents after DTP
  • Creating structured test plans for localised applications, user assistance or websites
  • Testing localised software, online help systems, websites or eLearning systems, using structured test plans.
  • On-going maintenance of unique translation memories for each of our clients

All linguistic quality assurance steps are performed by our qualified revisers, proofreaders or testers, not by the original translators.

We are also expert developers and users of Translation Quality Evaluation metrics such as ITR BlackJack and SAE J2450 - tools and processes which enable us to provide objective reports on the linguistic quality of our deliverables.

This approach, combined with our robust project methodologies, means that our clients can rely on a consistent level of linguistic quality and expect complete end-user satisfaction, whatever the language, whatever the technical domain.
