Vacancy for: Project Coordinator – Japanese translation and localisation services

The company's Japanese localisation team is seeking to recruit a Project Coordinator starting in January or February 2012. Projects involve the localisation of software (for e.g. mobile telephony devices or data analysis applications), online user assistance, corporate websites and printed documentation (e.g. User Guides). The position would suit someone with about 2 years' experience in a localisation project management role who wishes to progress to a company with a complex and varied project portfolio.

Responsibilities:

The role involves coordinating projects from receipt of source text through to final sign-off, including:

  • Supervision of external and internal resources (translators, revisers, DTP specialists, localisation engineers, software testers).
  • Quality control and assurance.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Japanese language skills to native standard.
  • Linguistic qualifications to postgraduate level.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience of localisation tools and processes especially translation memory systems.
  • Knowledge of DTP tools (e.g. FrameMaker and InDesign).
  • Strong IT aptitude.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Flexible mentality, ability to learn quickly and enjoy team work within a multi-cultural environment.

Preference will be given to candidates with an EU work permit. However ITR holds an A-rating Sponsorship Licence and may consider sponsoring a suitable candidate.
