Event Tech Live, hosted in The Old Truman Brewery in Whitechapel, London in November 2018, was Europe’s only show dedicated to Event Technology; the multi-strand conference and exhibition was free to attend and aimed at event professionals and students alike. The event has grown substantially within the five years of being live to now incorporate over 2000 attendees, more than 100 Event Tech suppliers and 50 free educational sessions. With this in mind, ITR and partner company, Immersive AV came together to showcase some of their capabilities to the world of event professionals. The brief was simple; create a stand that best illustrates how the ITR and Immersive AV work harmoniously to create stunning visual displays and technical wizardry with an extensive supply of the latest technology for the events industry.

Solution

The space that ITR booked for Event Tech Live was in a prime position – and one of the larger stands at the venue. As the stand was viewable from the other end of the exhibition hall, it was essential that it had maximum impact. Because the stand was the last one before the exit, it meant that all attendees at the event had to pass the stand to leave; we wanted as many as possible to come and see how our two companies worked together and the types of technology we had on offer.

Immersive AV designed the stand with this in mind, with ITR providing all of the hardware necessary to execute the design. The large LED wall showcased Immersive AV’s ability to use RFID readers to encourage interactivity on the stand – by moving one of the items with the RFID tags to the reader, the content playing on ITR’s LED could be changed. The stand also highlighted Immersive AV’s ability to create complex visual displays using Disguise D3 servers and Notch software and ITR’s LED.

To increase the level of interactivity, and to encourage visitors onto the stand, we took the Rope Pull Challenge as designed by Immersive AV for Land Rover – visitors were invited to see how many metres of rope they could pull within one minute. The results were displayed on the leaderboard after they submitted their details into an iPad.

Immersive AV project managed the installation, with ITR supplying full crew support.
