The Energyst Event
Energy has slowly gone from something we ought to do to something that is a must for many (think ESOS), to now an opportunity for all. A business can perform better financially by reducing the cost of energy, but the big story is how can we make our energy approach into a revenue generating centre whilst improving our CSR credentials to keep stakeholders happy. Technology and appetite has driven energy convergence, placing emphasis on joined up thinking. The Energyst Event, the home of energy convergence, reflects this welcome shift.
The conference sessions conveyed both the latest energy insights and explored how the market is changing. Debates on how to deal with a changing energy world and discussions on practical issues proved popular. Perennial problems for energy professionals such as how to remove finance as a barrier, how to pitch business cases beyond energy, and how to bundle projects together to make them more viable were widely praised.
Over 900 visitors attended the inaugural event. The three biggest sectors attending were manufacturers, IT/telecoms and banking/finance. 37% of all visitors were directors and 17% were managers, proving energy is now being recognised as crucial at senior levels within both private and public sector businesses.
